Over the last few weeks our You Can athletes have been racing all over the UK.  Here's an update on what Jack and Ross have been up to.

Jack

Jack has been getting coached by Craig for a few months now and their main focus has been on his running with the Dublin Marathon at the end of October.

As part of the build up to the marathon Jack raced in the Galway Bay Half Marathon last weekend.  He finished with a 20 minute PB in a time of 1:56:12.

After the race he commented that "there's been a huge progression in training and days like today are great to see.  I can't thank you guys enough."  The training "is giving him the confidence and momentum to to not just feel like I can do the marathon and 70.3, but that I can set definite time goals for both, and achieve them."

Jack has continued to work on his swimming and cycling and after Dublin will turn to concentrate on preparing himself for Ironman 70.3 Barcelona next year.

We will bring you an update on how Jack got on at Dublin Marathon in a few weeks time.  For now, well done on Galway and good luck for Dublin!

Ross

Ross has had an exceptionally busy season so far with Stirling Marathon, 70.3 Edinburgh, Ironman UK, 70.3 Dublin and then Ironman Wales so you'd be forgiven for thinking that he'd already be in his off-season.  But, last weekend Ross competed in the Double Iron Triathlon as part of the Brutal Events Deca UK event.

The Double Iron involved doing a Iron distance triathlon on the Saturday, followed by another on the Sunday.  To most doing one is more than enough, but clearly not for Ross.  He completed the weekend with a WINNING time of 29:42:09 after swimming 7.6km in 3:00:07, cycling 360km in 16:03:45 and running 84.4km in 10:37:39.

Congratulations once again Ross.  Hopefully now you can enjoy some much earned rest.
